She came for an education. She was trafficked on IU’s campus.

Tebby Kaisara thought she was coming to IU to get an education. But the female IU student who sponsored her to come from Botswana stole her passport, told her she would be deported if she did not obey, and coerced her into working as a domestic servant for 18 months. She cleaned the student’s apartment, took care of the woman’s children, did laundry, ran errands, cooked meals and bought groceries. All without pay.

And all while living in student housing on campus.
